My name is Ben. I am husband to the most amazing woman, co-founder of the band Sidewalk Prophets, and a student of life. Running has literally changed my life this past year. (I lost 125 lb.) I have learned a lot about discipline and the lessons learned have poured over in to every area of my life. With this blog I hope to share a bit of entertainment, and inspiration as well as keep a journal of the places I run. If you're feeling helpless, hopeless, and lost... I am here to tell you that I have been there and I think I may be able to share some insight that may help you. Thanks for reading.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
I think it started when I was 6 or 7. In fact, it probably began earlier than that. My passion to create began on my grandmother’s piano. I remember hearing the story of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s life in my music class at a young age. The way my music teacher told the story helped illustrate his passion for creating music. I specifically remember her telling us about how when Beethoven got older he lost most of his hearing so he began to play harder so he could hear the music. Beethoven also used to lay his head down on the piano so that he could and feel the music he was creating. At a young age, this was very inspiring to me. I never cared about logically creating though. My only concern was that whatever emotions were contained in my soul came out of my creation in the purest most real form. With that being said, painting has become my new outlet for creating and it’s great to express my soul in a different way. Here’s my latest painting.
